Pine-Clad Barn Gym Loft in New Hope, PA

We transformed an underused barn loft in New Hope into a bright, fully finished space built for a home gym and lounge. The vaulted, pine-clad room is wrapped in natural light from oversized windows and detailed to complement the property's wooded setting while standing up to year-round use.

The Challenge

The homeowners had a generous but rough, unfinished loft and wanted a comfortable, architecturally warm space they could use across all four seasons — a finished, room-quality gym and lounge rather than dead storage above the barn.

Our Solution

We insulated and finished the loft with warm tongue-and-groove pine walls and ceiling, durable plank flooring, and large windows that flood the space with light. Defined zones for workouts and lounging sit beneath the vaulted roofline, with recessed lighting and climate control that keep the loft comfortable from spring through winter.

Have Questions?

Barn / Gym Loft in New Hope, PA.

Can you finish an existing barn loft into a gym?

Yes. We insulate, frame, and finish raw loft spaces into comfortable, year-round rooms. For gym use we verify and reinforce the floor framing to handle equipment loads, then finish with durable flooring and warm pine surfaces.

Do I need a permit for a barn loft conversion in New Hope, PA?

Converting a loft into finished living or gym space typically requires a building permit and inspections. We prepare the plans, file permits with New Hope Borough or Solebury Township, and coordinate inspections so everything is code-compliant.

How do you keep a barn loft comfortable year-round?

We add insulation, proper ventilation, and climate control, then seal and finish the walls and ceiling. Combined with large windows for daylight, the loft stays comfortable for workouts and lounging from spring through winter.
