Stone Fire-Pit Lounge & Paver Patio in Doylestown, PA

This Doylestown family wanted a backyard that worked as hard in October as it did in July. We designed a sunken stone fire-pit lounge wrapped by a multi-level paver patio, anchored by built-in seating walls and integrated low-voltage lighting. The result is a defined outdoor room that flows naturally from the home's rear entrance to the garden beyond.

The Challenge

The lot sloped away from the house with poor drainage and a tired, cracked concrete pad. The homeowners needed a level, code-compliant gathering space that drained correctly during Pennsylvania's freeze-thaw cycles — without losing usable yard for their kids.

Our Solution

We removed the failing slab, regraded the area, and installed a compacted base with a concealed drainage plan to carry water away from the foundation. A gas-fed stone fire pit became the focal point, framed by curved seating walls and a tumbled-paver patio in two tiers. Low-voltage lighting was woven into the steps and walls so the space stays usable after dark.

Have Questions?

Outdoor Living in Doylestown, PA.

How much does a fire-pit paver patio cost in Doylestown, PA?

Most stone fire-pit and paver patio projects in Doylestown range from roughly $25,000 to $70,000+ depending on square footage, wall work, drainage, gas lines, and lighting. We provide a detailed, fixed estimate after an on-site visit.

Do paver patios need permits in Doylestown Township?

Patios at grade often don't require a building permit, but seating walls, gas lines, and grading work can. We handle any required permits and inspections with Doylestown Borough or Township so the project is fully code-compliant.

How do you keep a paver patio from settling or heaving?

We excavate to a proper depth, install a compacted aggregate base with geotextile fabric, and build in drainage so water never sits under the pavers. Correct base prep is what keeps a patio level through Pennsylvania's freeze-thaw winters.
